I qualified from the Bay of Plenty College of Homeopathy in 2012, shortly before the birth of my second child. Since graduating, I have been using homeopathy to treat my own children as well as my extended family and friends, all while being a stay-at-home mum. Recently, I set up a practice in my home in Dovedale, Tasman District, where I now see clients in person and online for both chronic and acute health conditions.

I am passionate about empowering people to treat themselves and their children with homeopathy. All three of my children have been raised with homeopathy since birth, and they now have a pretty good idea of which remedy to reach for when they face a problem. I run “Introduction to Homeopathy” workshops and offer a selection of homeopathic kits and books to help people support themselves in home prescribing for acute conditions.

I love the process of taking a case and getting to know my clients on a deeper level to better understand and assist them with their personal health needs.

Finding a remedy for a child who was teething got me hooked

I first discovered homeopathy around 17 years ago while working at Piko Wholefoods in Christchurch. The shop sold homeopathic remedies, although at the time I had no idea what they where or how they worked. We also had a small amount of literature in the shop on homeopathy. Sometimes if the shop was quiet I would pick it up and read it, it always just really intrigued me. After purhcasing a couple of very small books, I later had a visit from my teething nephew. I ended up finding what I thought he needed in one of those books and after a quick drive down to work to pick up a bottle of Chamomilla I administered my first dose of homeopathy. Within 20 seconds of taking that remedy he went from irritable, demanding and whiny to a happy and calm and laughing baby. I was hooked.

A visit to Simillimum Pharmacy in Wellington shortly after and I had my first repertory, a Materia medica and a book on homeopathy for children. About a year later I discovered that I could study homeopathy in Christchurch which lead to a swift enrollment a day later and subsequent study to become a homeopath.

I love taking cases. The process of sitting with someone for 1.5 – 2 hours and hearing their story always feels like an immense priviledge. Not many modalities allow their clients to sit and talk for such an extended period of time.

For some people it is the first time they have really had someone hear them in regards to their health concerns and it is possibly one of my favourite parts of homeopathy.

I run my practice from my rural home in Dovedale in the Tasman District where I live with my three children and a selection of farm animals. I also take cases online for those who live outside the area or unable to get to my clinic.

In my spare time I love getting out and training on my mountain bike on the nearby tracks and hills. I enjoy going on adventures with my children which may include camping, kayaking, biking, swimming, skiing or tramping. I also love to garden, particularly growing edibles & peonies and can often be found in the veggie patch between clients.
